‘Meet your Emergency Services’ Day

Posted: Wed, August 28th, 2019

Saturday 7 September
10.30am – 2.30pm
Market Square

Here’s a great day out! Huntingdon welcomes representatives* from all our remarkable Emergency Services on Saturday 7 September.

The Police, Ambulance and Fire Services will be showcasing their facilities and demonstrating skills and sharing stories that see them save lives every year. Also attending is the local Magpas Emergency Medical Charity that works hand in hand with the emergency services to provide pre-hospital care by land and air.

Find out first-hand about the people and their work that make our emergency service people world class. It also aims to educate the public about using the emergency services responsibly and to promote volunteering in positions such as Special Constables and NHS Community Responders.

With lots of television documentaries giving an insight into the working lives of our emergency services, this is your chance to see close up how they respond to SOS calls and appreciate their unparalleled commitment to helping people (and animals). For instance, just how do they get all that lifesaving equipment on one vehicle?

You might have more questions such as, what’s the furthest that the air ambulances will travel? Or how do you give CPR? how fast can a fire engine go? Whatever your question, members of the emergency services will be on hand to answer as many as possible.

Make a date in your diary and come along for a fun visit including the ever-popular FREE Face painter and Dave the Balloon man.
