Local travel agent is collecting for disadvantaged youngsters
A Huntingdon travel agent has launched its annual gift collection for local children in care.
Premier Travel in Huntingdon is hoping to make Christmas special for disadvantaged youngsters in the area with its Santa’s Sack appeal, running from November 1st to November 28th.
Staff are appealing for new toy or gift donations suitable for youngsters aged from newborn up to 16 years to fill its present sack. They are hoping to top last year’s total of 100 children’s gifts.
People can pop into the branch in 45 High Street to hand in a donation. The presents will be collected by a representative from social services, who will deliver the presents to local children in care in time for Christmas.
Holly Shotter, branch manager, said: “Christmas is such a special time of year, particularly for children, and we always try to contribute wherever we can to make the day extra special for those less fortunate.
“We have launched our Santa’s Sack appeal once again in order to collect donations for children in care who might not otherwise receive a present at Christmas. Any contributions, no matter how big or small, will be greatly received and much appreciated.”
