Wild Food Foraging and Cookery Course

The beautiful Hinchingbrooke Country Park, located in Huntingdon, is the perfect place to learn how to forage for edible plants and fungi growing all around us in the UK in late summer. This foraging course is easy to get to from Peterbrough, Northampton, Bedford, and Cambridge.
At this species-rich venue, you’ll discover how to identify some commonly growing foods to forage for, how to avoid poisonous lookalikes, and hints on where to look.
When we meet up , we will go through the basics of foraging before heading out over the park’s range of habitats, including woodland, hedgerows, watersides, parkland, and meadows.
During the walk, your expert forager will introduce you to a number of edible species, giving you tips on harvesting, correct identification, and recipe ideas. You’ll also get to sample a range of delicious wild food treats, which could include alcohol infusions, salts, pickles, syrups, cordials, and preserves, along the way.
On returning to our meeting point, we will have a quick break while sorting through and cleaning up our ingredients. Then we start on the cookery side of our course, where we will all play a part in preparing our wild ingredients to create a delicious meal for us all to enjoy.
