Huntingdon’s SECOND Chilli Fiesta
It promises to be a ‘hot’ day out for friends and family filled with chilli mayhem!
Billed as the ‘Awesome Huntingdon Chilli Fiesta’, come along and enjoy all things chilli and hot and just a little bit different!
Hot curry, hot sauces, cooking sauces, hot dips, spicy snacks, plants, seeds, chilli chocolate and more. We’re warned not to “expect hot dogs, chips or even burgers; we are about chilli!”
Organised by ChilliFest.net (UK), these events have been happening all over the UK from Eastleigh to Lincoln, Perth to Blackpool and Swindon to Shoreham. Now it’s Huntingdon’s turn!
Some ‘chilli’ tips for you:
- Be careful when trying new chillies as the burning sensation of some, like the Chiltepin, is explosive and subsides quickly whereas the heat of others, like the Habanero, builds slowly.
- Drinking milk or putting a spoonful of yoghurt in your mouth is the best way to relieve the burning sensation of chillies.
- Chillies can help fight off winter colds and eating them releases endorphins that help lift the spirits. They’re contain more Vitamin C than oranges, more Vitamin A than carrots and such high levels of Vitamin D that some athletes eat them prior to exercising to reduce the risk of injury.
