BID Huntingdon/Huntingdon First extends a warm welcome to Bill Hensley as he takes up his new appointment as the BID Huntingdon Chairman.
Bringing with him a wealth of local experience having been Mayor of Huntingdon three times, Mr Hensley is also a director at Huntingdon Community Radio, HCR104fm, which broadcasts to the Huntingdon area.
“I’m looking forward to building on BID Huntingdon’s work over the past seven years and helping to raise the profile of our town,” Mr Hensley says. “As Chairman, one of my goals is to continue to make our town more attractive and welcoming for residents, employees and visitors.”
BID Huntingdon, which is funded by town centre businesses, implements projects and initiatives to improve the overall trading environment for businesses within Huntingdon town centre.
Under the marketing arm of Huntingdon First, the BID Huntingdon team heads up a range of events to attract visitors and promote local businesses. Mr Hensley will be part of the BID Huntingdon Action Groups who look at various projects to help increase footfall to the town.
As well as organising events, BID Huntingdon offers business support via first aid courses and social media training through to the free-to-download LoyalFree App for businesses and visitors offering savings, loyalty schemes and places to eat, drink and shop in Huntingdon. The App is available at the App Store on mobile phones.
With a high-ranking website offering a What’s On calendar, News, a Business Finder and things to discover about the town, Huntingdon First works hard to promote the town’s benefits far and wide.
