Huntingdon First are extremely proud to announce an exciting partnership with The Commemoration Hall Charity (registered 302645) to host FREE community screenings of The Coronation (Saturday 6th May), The Coronation Concert (Sunday 7th May) and the Eurovision Song Contest Final (Saturday 13th May).
These landmark screenings will take place in the Commemoration Hall (39 High Street, Huntingdon) the venue being the heart of Arts and Entertainment in Huntingdon town centre. Renowned for being a community-based facility BID are delighted to work in partnership for these screenings to take place. Having been around since 1842 at the start of Queen Victoria’s reign, it is fitting that it is witness to her great-great-great-great grandson’s coronation via 21st century modern technology.
BID Huntingdon First would like to thank Department of Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) and UK Government in supporting and contributing to funding of the screen site and the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA) in securing the funding.
Paul Sweeney, Huntingdon First Town Manager said:
“It’s an amazing opportunity for the community to get together and celebrate not only King Charles III historic coronation but the UK hosting the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of Ukraine. We hope to see businesses and communities support the screenings that are offered free with thanks to the generous funding support of the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority, DCMS and the UK Government”.
