Pericles – Shakespeare at The George this June
Shakespeare at The George 2017 summer Shakespeare production will be PERICLES.
Directed by Richard Brown.
Tuesday 4th July will be a “captioned” performance by Stagetext.
Performances are presented in the open air Jacobean Courtyard of The George Hotel in Huntingdon. The ‘tiered’ courtyard seating and stage are completely uncovered and productions could be affected by the weather, if health and safety becomes an issue. If cancellation or abandonment is unavoidable, ticket holders will be entitled to seats at the nearest value for any future SaTG performance, including Parlour, subject to availability, or a refund of the ticket price at the discretion of the Trustees.
The play is like no other written by Shakespeare for its depth of storyline. It is a wonderful story of pure adventure, and perhaps easiest to think of it rather like a Shakespearian version of The 1001 Arabian Nights. A fairy tale that romances its way around the Mediterranean world.
